ENGLISH
This sculpture of a human face is crafted in terracotta by skilled local artisans from Greece, who adeptly mold the material to shape the face, hair, and beard of the character they wish to represent.

Among the Greeks and Romans, masks were a type of helmet that completely covered the head and in addition to reproducing facial features, they included hair, ears, and a beard. The Greeks were the first to use them in their theaters so that actors could physically resemble the character they were portraying.
